Yes, always ensure you have Local Administrator permissions when installing and troubleshooting Olympus DSS Player Pro Release 5. If you have not installed Olympus DSS Player Pro Release 5 with Local Administrator permissions and are experiencing problems, it is recommended you uninstall and reinstall the software with these permissions in place.

If this fails to resolve the issue we recommend:

  1. Logon to server and temporarily upgrade problematic user to domain administrator.
  2. Logoff and logon user for changes to take effect.
  3. Remove all Olympus software.
  4. Restart PC.
  5. Logon to PC as user (still with admin rights).
  6. Install latest version of R5 and restart if required
  7. Test operation. All functions should operate correctly.
  8. Downgrade user back toUser” orPower User” state
  9. Logoff and logon user for changes to take effect.
  10. Test once more. All functions should operate correctly.
