USB 3.0 Port Driver Issue with Philips SpeechMikes

Philips SPS (Speech Processing Solutions) replied to reports of a USB 3.0 Port Driver Issue in the field where some SpeechMike users experienced communication issues when using USB 3.0 Ports.  In a recent Partner Release Announcement, SPS commented “If the SpeechMike is plugged into a USB 3.0 port in some cases, the communication of the PC with the SpeechMike is corrupted by the operating system USB drivers.”

The SPS team recommended the following 3 Workarounds.

Workaround 1: Crosscheck whether there are new USB Chipset drivers for the used operating system on the homepage of the USB Chipset manufacturer or the motherboard manufacturer of the PC.

Workaround 2: Use an external USB hub to which you connect the SpeechMike.

Workaround 3: Connect the SpeechMike to a USB 2.0 port
